Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising partnership that challenges conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Uncovered
According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of banned ceremonies and terrifying transformations reverberate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden cult.
The mission centers on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses
The teaser showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Extra Content
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an special katana alongside multiple items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Update
This update also brings the game's newest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
