Damp conditions were forecast to persist along large portions of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.

Tomorrow was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both areas.

Safety Concern

Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.

This warning comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
